Sherlock Holmes said, "Ah! My dear Watson! You see, but you do not observe!" That's what I attempt to do... to observe deeply and intensely.

My landscape work is painted on location and sometimes from memory when a building or scene is gone or changed. My figure work is from live models.

I strive for the spirit or essence and character of a place, not a photographically real rendition. My approach to painting and the tools I use are described in the interview article by Bret Yager.

The highest compliment paid to me was from a man who looked at my 'Carousel' painting and said he could hear the music.

The paintings thumbnailed here are available for purchase at Quiet Waters Gallery along with many others. An Installment Payment Option is available to qualified buyers for sales made in person at the gallery. A minimum 20% downpayment releases the painting. No interest on the unpaid balance which is due within one year.
